This video contains the basic broad sword form, known as Chuji Dao or "elementary broad sword." Also known as the "Tiger Tail Broad sword," this form is the first broad sword form taught in many traditional Kung Fu programs, as well as the vast majority of modern Wushu schools around the world. It contains all of the basic movements required to master this weapon.

The broad sword is known as "The Marshal of all Weapons" and is considered an intermediate level weapon. It is the 2nd weapon of the 4 core Kung Fu weapons and is the 1st of the "Short-Range" weapons. The broad sword shares some similarities to the straight sword but has some distinct differences. The broad sword's essence is "The Tiger," featuring lots of powerful hacking motions.
